Netflix announces staggered release for final Stranger Things

Netflix’s Tudum event – an annual celebration of fandom and pop culture that reveals news content and release dates – took over the Kia Forum in Los Angeles on May 31st with a stacked lineup of talent, reveals and musical performances.
Hosted by Sofia Carson, the event brought thousands of fans together at the venue, as well as members watching live on Netflix around the world, to watch the stars from some of Netflix’s most popular series such as Squid Game, Stranger Things, One Piece and Wednesday and most anticipated films including Frankenstein, Happy Gilmore 2, The Rip and Wake Up Dead Man: A Knives Out Mystery.
Netflix announced that the fifth and final season of Stranger Things – genuinely one of the most anticipated TV events of modern times – will debut in November with a staggered release. The four-episode Volume 1 will premiere on November 26th; Volume 2, comprising of three episodes, will debut on December 25th; and the finale is set to drop on December 31st.

The third and final season of Squid Game lands on June 27th.
Happy Gilmore 2, the sequel to the beloved Adam Sandler movie, debuts on July 25th.
Part 1 of Season 2 of Wednesday debuts on August 6th, followed by part 2 on September 4th.
Guillermo Del Toro’s Frankenstein, starring Oscar Isaac, arrives on Netflix in November.
Wake Up Dead Man: A Knives Out Mystery – the third film in the series starring Daniel Craig as detective Benoit Blanc – will debut on December 12th. New cast members include Jeremy Renner, Glenn Close, Mila Kunis, Andrew Scott, Kerry Washington, Thomas Hayden Church and Josh Brolin.
Manga adaptation One Piece will return with a second season in 2026.
Hollywood stars Ben Affleck and Matt Damon will reunite for crime thriller The Rip, also being released in 2026.
Speaking after the event, Netflix Chief Marketing Officer Marian Lee, said: “Tudum 2025 was a sold-out celebration of everything that makes Netflix the ultimate entertainment destination — bold storytelling, global fandom, and unforgettable moments. With exclusive first looks, surprise appearances and iconic performances from Lady Gaga and Hanumankind […] it was a one-of-a-kind experience fans could only get from Netflix. And as a live event, it was one fans around the world could enjoy together in real time, no matter where they were.”
