Premier Sports providing full UK live coverage of both EPCR Finals

May 20, 2025

The two biggest international club rugby fixtures of the season will be played out this weekend at Cardiff’s Principality Stadium with every minute of action from both Finals live on Premier Sports across the UK.

Premier Sports has unveiled a 15-strong team of rugby’s top presenters, commentators and pundits to bring rugby fans exclusive insight and build-up to one of the most eagerly awaited rugby weekends of the year. The talented TV line-up game includes Lawrence Dallaglio, Benjamin Kayser, Anthony Watson, Chris Robshaw, Pat Lam, Andy Goode, Matt Banahan, John Barclay, Tom Shanklin and Ryan Wilson backed by the safe hands, knowledge and expertise of presenters Martin Bayfield, Ross Harries, Claire Thomas and commentators Miles Harrison and Martin Gillingham.

On May 23rd, Bath Rugby take on Lyon (live on Premier Sports 1 from 7pm) and then Northampton Saints against Union Bordeaux-Bègles (live on Premier Sports 1 from 1.30pm).

There will be two packed live shows with all the latest from Cardiff’s iconic Principality Stadium including a full 75-minute build-up to the Investec Champions Cup with coverage starting from 1.30pm on May 24th. The contest between Northampton Saints and Union Bordeaux-Bègles brings a fresh new wave of storylines and match-ups for all rugby fans to enjoy as two attack-minded clubs fight all the way for the coveted trophy.

British and Irish Lions stars will be out in force across the weekend including Northampton Saints’ Fin Smith, Alex Mitchell, Tommy Freeman and Henry Pollock plus Bath’s Finn Russell and Will Smith. Will it be third time lucky for the Saints as Final number three comes their way after winning in 2000 and then coming runners-up in 2011?

Union Bordeaux-Bègles (UBB) super star backs Louis Bielle-Biarrey, Maxime Lucu and Matthieu Jalibert have shown they are going to be plenty for any opponent and with experience and youthful pace all over, Saints will know to be wary of the threats UBB offer heading into Saturday. UBB have reached new heights in their campaign in the ICC this season, as they became the only side to seal five bonus-point wins in the pool stages for an unmatched 20 points.

Both Bath Rugby and Lyon Olympique Universitaire (LOU) will be seeking their second title in the Challenge Cup on May 23rd, with the French side winning the silverware most recently in 2022. There’s another set of exciting match-ups including Finn Russell vs Léo Berdeu at centre stage.

Dallaglio commented:  “You don’t get these opportunities very often, and you have to seize them. That will be the message to players and teams – to seize the day and go out and win. This is going to be a fantastic weekend of rugby, in one of the best stadiums in the world and you have so many stars and match-ups to choose from it’s going to be brilliant for all rugby fans wherever you are watching. And as a Premier Sports team, we can’t wait to get started!”

Richard Sweeney, CEO of Premier Sports, added:  “We have been proud to bring the very best international club rugby competition to our customers in the UK and Ireland as EPCR’s UK host broadcaster throughout this season. This weekend’s Finals will be the pinnacle of our coverage as we show our 80th live game from both competitions in a season packed with star performances, surprise results and some unrivalled rugby action. It’s been a very successful year for us in terms of expanding our rugby offer to UK rugby fans, including renewing our partnership with URC for four more years as well as adding Top 14, Japan League One and MLR rugby live each weekend. We now provide the most comprehensive rugby club coverage available across the UK and Ireland with 80 top European rugby fixtures, 151 URC games across five rugby nations and 110 TOP14 games live – making Premier Sports the destination for any rugby fan.”
