BBC, ITV, Channel 4 dominate BATFA wins

The BAFTA Television Awards celebrated the best in British TV on May 11th – and free TV stole the show, taking home the vast majority of awards.
BBC, ITV and Channel 4 dominated, with over 85 per cent of this year’s winning shows originally broadcast on their channels – and now streaming for free, no subscription required. Viewers can watch them all on Freely, the smart TV streaming platforme.
The BBC led the night with 18 awards, including double acting wins for Mr Loverman and the public-voted Memorable Moment award for Strictly Come Dancing. ITV’s celebrated drama Mr Bates vs The Post Office (pictured) took home the coveted Limited Drama category, beating Netflix’s Baby Reindeer, and also received the prestigious BAFTA Special Award, while Channel 4 was celebrated across Reality, Entertainment and Current Affairs.
