Discovery Channel celebrates 40 years

Discovery Channel reports that it is commemorating its 40th anniversary by “honouring its long-held mission to inspire curiosity and wonder about the natural world”.
The celebration will take place throughout the year, across both US and international markets, and will feature special programming, social media extensions, consumer products, and a new brand spot.
Warner Bros Discovery is also partnering with the Arbor Day Foundation to plant over 40,000 trees globally, helping support biodiversity and make communities healthier around the world.
A special 40th Anniversary Collection, a testament to the brand’s commitment to sparking curiosity and expanding the boundaries of discovery, will be available on Max and discovery+, along with treasured legacy content.
The Discovery Channel began broadcasting on June 17th 1985. It was initially available to 156,000 US households and broadcast for 12 hours each day. Today, Discovery Channel is part of WBD, and is available in more than 220 countries and territories worldwide, and in 50 different languages.
