Solarflare Studio creates VR experiences for Seat Unique
February 18, 2025

Creative technology agency, Solarflare Studio, has created a series of immersive VR experiences that capture the experience of live events and exclusivity of VIP hospitality packages.
Accessible through Meta Quest 3 headsets, VR users are able to stand shoulder to shoulder with the Welsh rugby squad as they sing the national anthem on the pitch. Sport fans can also feel what it’s like to be digitally tackled by a former Wales rugby team captain and can speak face-to-face with England’s cricket team. Moments later, VR footage from an NFL showdown in Wembley places participants cheek-by-jowl with players from Jacksonville Jaguars and Chicago Bears as they rush out on the field via an entrance tunnel.
Developed for the premium ticketing platform Seat Unique, the VR experiences are designed to bring the company’s partners right into the action of premiuim music and sporting events to provide a taste of the experiences Seat Unique can create for them.
To achieve this, Solarflare Studio captured behind-the-scenes and front-row VR footage at some of last year’s top events, including the Wales vs South Africa rugby fixture held at The Principality Stadium on November 23rd 2024.
The VR experiences afford viewers virtual access to Seat Unique’s hospitality lounges, which feature in a range of UK venues such as Co-op Live in Manchester and the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium, providing an exclusive preview into its amenities and portfolio of experiences.
Solarflare Studio installed a super high-definition screen, measuring over 175 inches wide, in Seat Unique’s London office, which the VR experiences can be cast onto, allowing multiple visitors to experience the content simultaneously.
Jay Short, Client Services Director, Solarflare Studio, said: “The VR experiences we’ve created with Seat Unique are simply the best way to show people how incredible it is to have a front-row VIP seat at a live event without actually being there. Our work brings some of the world’s most iconic venues to life to fans, transporting them directly into the thick of it and taking their experience far beyond static 2D images and videos. There might not yet be a substitute for flesh-and-blood experiences, but there’s nothing quite like VR when it comes to immediately communicating what it’s like to be somewhere. You do not need to imagine – you’re already there.”
James Duffy, COO, Seat Unique, added: “We’re delighted with Solarflare Studio’s installation and the VR headsets they’ve delivered for us. The feedback has been fantastic so far. This new setup gives investors and potential partners a tangible sense of what we offer. There’s no need to take our word for it anymore; they can see it for themselves.”
Seat Unique is set to expand its VR experiences with further content from upcoming live events as the year goes on.
