Disney Theatrical Group has confirmed the opening of Disney’s new production of Hercules, directed and choreographed by Casey Nicholaw, at Theatre Royal Drury Lane, in London’s West End in summer 2025.
With music and lyrics by Alan Menken and David Zippel, and a new book by Robert Horn and Kwame Kwei-Armah and co-choreography by Tanisha Scott, Hercules is inspired by the 1997 Academy Award-nominated animated film of the same name from Walt Disney Studios.
Hercules surprised audiences at the 2023 Royal Variety Performance as part of a magical medley of Disney on Stage hits (pictured). The muses brought down the house with Zero to Hero and Hercules’s celebrated anthem, Go the Distance, giving viewers a taste of the spectacular score in the musical.
In the UK & Ireland, theatre attendess can currently experience The Lion King and Frozen in London’s West End, as well as touring productions of Aladdin and Disney On Ice.
