November 20, 2023
With the goal of fostering inclusivity, StarHub organised live screenings of the ICC World Cup Finals 2023 between India and Australia on Novmber 19th at two recreational centres for migrant workers. In collaboration with Assurance Care Engagement (ACE) Group, the live screenings at Cochrane and Terusan Recreation Centres saw close to 3,000 migrant workers attend.
The ICC Cricket World Cup Finals 2023 saw Australia crowned the world champions of cricket for the sixth time. With support from DBS Bank, Nokia and Singapore Anti-Tuberculosis Association (SATA), members of the migrant workers community witnessed a historic run by Australian Travis Head who became the third Australian to achieve a century in the finals with 137, leading Australia to stop India’s ten-game undefeated streak.
“StarHub believes in the power of connectivity, not just through technology, but also through shared experiences,” said Johan Buse, Head of Consumer Business Group, StarHub. “As the Home of Sports with the most complete suite of live sports content available on one platform, StarHub is proud to be able to bring the world’s largest cricket event live to the migrant worker community in Singapore. Many who are fans of India’s cricket team were able to catch the historic event, support their team and celebrate the spirit of the sport.”
Formed in 2020, the Ministry of Manpower’s ACE Group aims to safeguard and enhance the well-being of migrant workers in our workforce, who contribute to Singapore’s success.
