“No India communication” from Musk, Bezos, OneWeb

An enterprising individual in India, and quoted the Indian Express, has submitted a Right to Information (RTI) request to India’s Dept. of Telecommunications (DoT) and asking what the status was on the planet’s three giant satellite constellation operators: Elon Musk, Jeff Bezos or OneWeb.
The RTI, surprisingly perhaps, has generated little in the way of extra knowledge as to the trio’s plans for India.
While DoT officials confirmed the developments they said that none of the three had offered “concrete proposals” on starting a satellite-based broadband service in India. However, they admitted that there had been some informal discussions with various departments within the Ministry.
In March this year, the Telecom Regulatory Authority of India (TRAI) had issued a 55-page discussion paper seeking industry views on ways to make satellite communication more affordable for ordinary users.
