Starz names Calderoni SVP of International Marketing

Starz, a Lionsgate company, has announced addition of Jose Calderoni as Senior Vice President of International Marketing to the Starz International Digital Networks team.
In the newly created role, Calderoni will report directly to Executive Vice President of International Digital Networks Superna Kalle and will be based in the company’s Santa Monica office.
Calderoni will lead StarzPlay’s international marketing efforts in more than 30 countries across Europe and Latin America working across partner marketing, brand, media, social, acquisition and creative to make StarzPlay a successful global brand in partnership with the larger Starz organisation.
“Jose’s strong record of elevating brands internationally is perfect to scale StarzPlay as we strengthen our presence in each country – his remit is to elevate our brand and programming to drive subscription,” said Kalle.
Prior to joining Starz, Calderoni served as Marketing & Social Director North Latin America where he led the mission to position the first streaming service in key Latin American markets, making Netflix one of the most beloved and respected brands in the region and a reference for the company’s global expansion. Calderoni also led marketing and digital strategy for Telefonica Movistar and served as head of marketing for Volaris airlines where he created the brand and developed award-winning campaigns that transformed a start-up low-cost airline in Mexico into the second-largest airline in the country.
