November 14, 2019

By Nik Roseveare

The Disney+ streaming service has already reached a major milestone, achieving 10 million sign-ups despite only launching on November 12th in the US, Canada and The Netherlands.

The figure obliterates analysts estimates of 8 million sign-ups before the end of the year. Disney shares rose 3.5 per cent in reaction to the news.

The service will launch in Australia, New Zealand and Puerto Rico next week, so the figure will soar even higher before the end of the calendar year.

The Walt Disney Company announced the milestone in a press release, adding: “Moving forward, there are no plans to release Disney+ subscriber data outside of The Walt Disney Company’s quarterly earnings calls.”
