Telefónica to invest €6.6bn in Brazil

Spanish telco Telefónica aims to replicate Spain’s Movistar model in Brazil through its massive deployment of optic fibre.
The company intends to invest €6.6 billion in the country between this year and 2020, out of which €622 million will be dedicated to extending optic fibre.
The president of Telefónica Brazil, Eduardo Navarro, said that optic fibre will be “the main driving force of the growth of the company” in the market.
