France: Molotov adds 4K content
October 13, 2017
From Pascale Paoli-Lebailly in Paris
French OTT and VoD platform Molotov is now streaming 1080p and 4K content across multiple devices, including 2017 Samsung Smart TVs, Apple TV 4K, Nvidia Shield, Sony Bravia UHD TVs, Chromecast Ultra and Android compatible devices.
The 1080p capability is available for around 15 channels and is exclusive to subscribers who pay for at least one service and have a 12/13Mbps connection. The free of charge stream remains in 720p.
To help users determine whether their devices are 4K compatible or not, Molotov has launched the ‘Molotov TVTest’ tool. If the test result is positive, viewers can watch lifestyle channel Luxe.TV 4K.
The 4K content will soon be additionally available on PCs and Macs, as well as on LG TVs and older Samsung TV sets.
