OSN secures Disney MENA exclusivity

Back in 1994 when the then Orbit bundle of pay TV channels was the very first digital broadcaster on the planet, it was justifiably proud of its exclusive relationship with Disney. That relationship is firmly back in position with a new wide-ranging deal with OSN (which merged with rival Showtime back in 2009).
The new agreement holds onto Dubai-based OSN’s exclusivity with Disney’s portfolio of channels, and also adds the broadcaster’s supply of ‘first-run’ pay-TV movies from Disney’s studios, plus the launch of a Disney HD movie channel. Included in the mix is access to Lucasfilm output including the Star Wars blockbusters. Viewers will also see more Disney TV series, both new material as well as returning series.
The deal permits OSN to offer viewers four new Disney-related channels (Disney Channel Pop Pick Play, Disney Forever, Disney English and Disney Channel Hindi) as enhanced online/ On Demand experiences – and also available on OSN’s ‘Play’ OTT bouquet.
