Following Netflix’s recent announcement of downloadable content, another SVoD service has revealed plans to do the same.
World Wrestling Entertainment (WWE) Chief Marketing and Revenue Officer Michelle Wilson has told Variety that offline viewing and downloadable content are “definitely on the roadmap” for its WWE Network sometime this year.
The WWE Network is now officially recognised as the fifth largest SVoD service in the world with over 1.5 million subscribers. The company’s annual flagship PPV Wrestlemania takes place on April 2nd, with the enhanced press coverage around the event perhaps providing an ideal time to reveal a download option for its WWE Network.
