India’s High Court in Delhi has dismissed most of the petitions objecting to the adoption of the Digital Addressable Systems (DAS) whereby every digital set-top box needed to be identifiable.
The Court ordered that the various petitioners now speedily complete their conversion projects from analogue to digital “within two weeks” and thus to then comply with India’s December 31st deadline for its Phase III (smaller towns) digital adoption date.
India’s still has a Phase IV (villages and country areas) adoption scheme which is due to commence on January 1st 2017.
