Vodafone launches 4K STB and channels

Vodafone Spain is to launch the first 4K STB in the market and four ultra-HD TV channels.
The box is aimed at ADSL and VDSL customers and functions like the existing Vodafone TV box, including search and recommendation, seven-day catch-up and access to online TV services including Netflix.
Vodafone is also launching four 4K channels: Festival 4K, a music-theme channel; SPI International’s FunBox 4K UHD, with a mix of documentaries, extreme sports, series and movies; ShowChannel, with a range of scenes in 4K; and Insight TV, an entertainment channel offering series, sports and documentaries.
The box will also enable viewers to access Netflix’s range of 4K titles. It comes with an integrated digital-terrestrial TV tuner, enabling users to access DTT channels.
