Ukraine: Kyivstar rolls out pay-TV with Vidmind
February 18, 2016
Kyivstar, Ukraine’s largest telecommunication company, has launched a nationwide pay-TV service using Vidmind’s advanced OTT platform.
Vidmind, together with ViaSat of the Modern Times Group (MTG), has won a tender to provide Kyivstar with a complete solution, which includes both content and technology.
“Vidmind was chosen because of its advanced and robust technology,” said Hagai Azor, VP Operations at Vidmind. “Together with ViaSat we were able to offer a risk-free model and fast deployment capability combined with premium content.”
The service, which allows subscribers to watch TV and VoD on four devices simultaneously, was launched first in the cities of Krivoy Rog and Zhytomyr. Following the successful pilot, Kyivstar extended the service across the whole of Ukraine. Kyivstar offers four packages featuring 70-130 channels and thousands of assets as part of its video-on-demand services.
