Spain’s DTT tender under fire
October 9, 2015
From David Del Valle in Madrid
Media groups Vocento and Prisa – companies left out of the new DTT licences – are considering challenging the public tender on the grounds that the awards have been the result of political interference.
Vocento, Prisa and shopping centre El Corte Inglés failed to get a new DTT licence with Atresmedia, Mediaset, Real Madrid, 13 TV, Grupo Secuyoya and radio station Radio Blanca being the successful bidders with one DTT licence each.
“We do not understand the criteria of the authority,” commented Vocento CEO Luis Enriquez who added that his group “carefully” prepared a fair proposal to get a licence.
