Major Indian cable Multi System Operators (MSOs) are seeking to create momentum for digitisation of the country’s networks with the formation of the All India Digital Cable Federation (AIDCF).
Federation members will work on a business model for Phase III and IV digitisation and aim to create a healthy business environment for all stakeholders.
Under government guidelines, Phase III is scheduled be over by end of 2015 and Phase IV, a year later. In Phase III and IV, cable TV digitisation will spread to the rural areas. Phase I was digitisation of metro cities, and Phase II was digitisation of cities with a population of more than 1 million people, Phase III covers all urban areas and Phase IV covers the rest of India.
