Danish broadcaster TV2 is set to dump its TV2 Film Channel and substitute it with a new sports channel.
TV2 Film has been on air for some 9 years.
TV2’s new sports channel, due to launch next year, will focus on all-Danish sports events. The new channel will be carried by Denmark’s main cable outlets including Boxer, Waoo!, Stofa and Canal Digital. TV2 says it is talking to other distributors.
TV2-Sport will show Danish handball, soccer, Danish ice-hockey, cycling, and major events such as the Olympic Games when they come around.
