Emmys for TiVo
August 15, 2014
TiVo has announced that the National Academy of Television Arts & Sciences (NATAS) has awarded both TiVo and subsidiary Digitalsmiths an Emmy Award for their role in shaping the next generation of home entertainment. TiVo was recognised for Television Enhancement Devices and Digitalsmiths for Personalised Recommendation Engines for Video Discovery for Multichannel Video Programming Distributors (MVPDs). The 2014 honours mark the fifth and sixth Emmy Awards for TiVo.
TiVo was acknowledged by NATAS for bridging the “traditional” TV experience with premium non-linear content delivered over the Internet via the TiVoCast platform.
Digitalsmiths’ Emmy Award recognises the success of the company’s Seamless Discovery product, including its status as North American MVPD’s most-adopted personalised video search and recommendation platform.
“TiVo has been at the forefront of shaping the next generation television experience since the company was founded,” said Evan Young, TiVo’s general manager of content, applications and advertising. “We are proud to be honoured for our innovative technology leadership and for paving the way for an awesome home entertainment experience that still today, continues to evolve.”
