Vaizey handed digital brief

A wide-ranging reshuffle of Prime Minister David Cameron’s ministerial appointments has seen Ed Vaizey, Parliamentary Under Secretary of State for Culture, Communications and Creative Industries, promoted to the role of Minister responsible for digital industries. His responsibilities will be shared between his current department – Culture, Media and Sport – and the Business, Innovation and Skills department.
Vaizey was appointed Parliamentary Under Secretary of State for Culture, Communications and Creative Industries in May 2010 following the General Election which saw the formation of a Conservative-led Coalition Government. He is the Conservative MP for Wantage and Didcot.
He was Shadow Minister for the Arts from 2006 to 2010.
