Arkena provides OTT for beIN Sports
June 23, 2014
Arkena has announced the provision of turn-key OTT and catch-up services for beIN Sports Connect, a new OTT offer launched by beIN SPORTS France to deliver its live channels directly via internet to connected devices, such as PC/Mac, iOS and Android smartphones and tablets.
Arkena provides the complete end-to-end OTT solution to beIN Sports: captation of the live channels, live transcoding, head-end services, CDN delivery as well as the various players to publish the content on all connected screens. In addition, Arkena also implements beIN Sports’ catch-up service on OTT.
“Providing our channels through OTT is strategic for beIN Sports. Not only will we be able to reach a new audience, but we will also have a better understanding of the way our audience consumes our programs. Choosing Arkena as our technical partner was an obvious decision for beIN Sports, as Arkena fully understands our needs and is able to meet all our requirements within a tight schedule”, said Sylvain Merle, Chief Technical Officer at beIN Sports.
“Being the trusted partner of beIN Sports for these projects, is of paramount importance to Arkena. We have demonstrated our ability to work with major innovative players of the industry in order to launch and operate new, innovative services. Our expertise in both linear and non-linear multiscreen delivery is recognized and beIN Sports’ trust is a great reward and an exciting challenge too”, said Julien Seligmann, Arkena CEO.
