BSkyB: Beware European copyright reform

By Colin Mann
Philip Pilcher, Head of European Policy at BSkyB, has questioned whether now is the right time for copyright reform in Europe. Speaking at the Westminster Media Forum Keynote Seminar – Next steps for copyright policy: UK and European reform – Pilcher noted that content delivery across Europe was dynamic, with consumers offered a wide range of platforms and devices on which to access such content.
“Users have access to more diverse content than they have ever had before; therefore intervention must be considered carefully to ensure it doesn’t undermine these market developments and ensure it doesn’t disincentivise content investment,” he warned.
