Lionsgate’s forthcoming movie release Bachelorette will August 16 become the biggest mainstream film ever to be released simultaneously across cinemas nationwide, video-on-demand and download to own.
The studio is offering what it says is the first multi-platform blockbuster title released in partnership with on-demand services including Sky Store, Virgin Movies, Xbox Video, Film Four, BT Vision, Google Play, Vdio, HTC Watch, Blinkbox, Knowhow Movies, Sainsbury’s Entertainment, Dominos, Everything Everywhere (EE) and PlayStation Store.
Nicola Pearcey, Lionsgate UK, said: “We’re excited to bring this multi-platform release to market across cinemas, download to own and on demand rental platforms across the UK. Quoted as ‘The feistiest, funniest female comedy ever!’ by Reveal, Bachelorette has a broad appeal across the market and the release strategy will provide our audience with the option to watch with friends in a fun cinema environment, or enjoy the film in the comfort of their own home.”
