Italians to feast on You Gotta Eat Here
July 24, 2013
Portfolio Entertainment’s popular food travel series You Gotta Eat Here is about to reach one of the world’s most renowned and celebrated culinary cultures: Italy.
The deal has been forged with the National Geographic Channel Italy through Portfolio’s local representative GA&A and will see You Gotta Eat Here air on the network in September 2013.
Based on the success of the first 26 episodes, which was commissioned by Food Network Canada, the second season of 26 episodes was quickly commissioned. The series has been picked up by UKTV’s Good Food Network in Great Britain and in territories such as Asia and the Pacific Rim (Discovery Asia Pacific).
Joy Rosen, co-founder at Portfolio Entertainment said of the deal, “We are delighted to announce the acquisition of You Gotta Eat Here by Nat Geo in Italy. This is the perfect Italian broadcast platform for the show, which is fast becoming a truly global success. We are really looking forward to watching the first episodes in Italian!”
Distributed globally by Portfolio Entertainment and produced for Food Network Canada by Lone Eagle Entertainment, You Gotta Eat Here is hosted by comedian and food enthusiast John Catucci and follows John as he uncovers restaurant gems that are best knows only to locals, sniffing out delectable comfort food that keeps its patrons coming back over and over again.
