From Branislav Pekic in Rome
Slovenian news agency STA has reported that UK-based private equity firm MidEuropa Partners is expected to formally announce the merger of its telecommunications/media interests in the region on April 23rd.
United Group will combine the assets of SBB and Telemach. The first is a leading cable TV and broadband Internet provider in Serbia, and a provider of pay-TV services, via the Total TV DTH platform, to the countries of the former Yugoslavia. The latter is the largest cable TV operator in Slovenia and Bosnia and Herzegovina, where it provides triple-play services (cable TV, broadband Internet and telephony).
Last December, Mid Europa Partners announced its intention to merge its telecommunications/media interests in the former Yugoslavia, including SBB and Telemach, into one group.
