Brazil’s Oi TV adds 153,000 subs

Another Brazilian MSO, OiTV, says it has enjoyed impressive new subscriber growth. OiTV says it now has 757,000 pay-TV subscribers spread across its cable, DTH and IPTV systems. Net growth saw 153,000 subscriptions added in the quarter-year to December 31st. OiTV is now Brazil’s 3rd-largest player.
Annual pay-TV subs were up 115.7 percent (quarterly growth was 25.3 per cent), and OiTV’s growth exceeds that of Telefonica, Brazil’s No 2 player. OiTV launched its IPTV service in December 2012.
