Walmart stocks Boxee TV
October 31, 2012
Walmart, the biggest retail chain in the US, is to start selling the Boxee TV on November 1st.
Boxee unveiled the product earlier this month, saying that it should be considered a “No Limits DVR.” The device, which connects to the television, has no onboard storage, but acts as a DVR, thanks to cloud storage. The device taps into the cloud to allow users to watch programming on their TVs. In addition, users can watch over-the-air television programming with its built-in antenna.
Thanks to that antenna, users can record over-the-air programming right from the device. However, in order to get the DVR features, users will need to pay $14.99 a month for access.
The Boxee TV will be available for $99.
