Sigma partners with AOC on Connected TV chipsets
August 2, 2012
Sigma Designs, a provider of System-on-Chip (SoC) solutions for home entertainment connectivity and control, has announced that Digital Television (DTV) manufacturer, AOC, will debut a new line of DTVs for the LATAM market based on the Sigma Designs HiDTV Pro-SXL SoCs at the ABTA 2012 conference. The Pro-SXL family DTV SoCs became an integral part of Sigma’s portfolio through the recent acquisition of certain assets from Trident, and augments Sigma’s existing line of media processing, home connectivity and home control products.
“AOC’s new line of connected DTVs provide consumers with a high-quality multimedia viewing experience, and fingertip access to the latest OTT interactive and cloud-based services including Ginga, Yahoo, and YouTube Leanback, among others,” said Andre Romanon, Senior Product Manager at AOC. “We selected Sigma’s Pro-SXL solution for this line because of its industry-leading picture-quality processing technology and built-in support for popular OTT services.”
