Kabel Deutschland and RTL HD carriage deal

Kabel Deutschland, Germany’s largest cable operator and RTL Germany have reached an agreement on the distribution of their Free to Air TV, Pay TV and VoD content. As part of the contract, the distribution of the TV channels was agreed in analogue, digital SD and digital HD. Both parties do not disclose contractual details.
As of beginning of September 2012, Kabel Deutschland will gradually carry RTL Group’s four HD channels RTL HD, VOX HD, SUPER RTL HD and RTL II HD. The HD channels will be automatically added to Kabel Deutschland’s HD Private offering and hence, be receivable for HD Private subscribers at no extra costs.
In addition, in the course of 2012 RTL Group will provide a wide range of VoD content for Kabel Deutschland’s VoD offering ‘Select Video’, and include the Pay TV channel RTL Living in its Pay TV package ‘Kabel Premium Extra’. Further to this, Kabel Deutschland will feed in Free TV channel RTL NITRO as of July 3rd.
