Rovi and MStar team on streaming technology
June 7, 2012
Rovi has announced plans for its DivX Plus Streaming technology to be integrated into MStar System-on-a Chip (SoC) platforms for Smart Digital TVs. The collaboration with MStar Semiconductor, a semiconductor company for display and digital home solutions, continues the industry support for DivX Plus Streaming to enable consumer electronics manufacturers to more rapidly release DTVs that support the feature-rich adaptive streaming solution.
“Rovi’s close working relationship with Mstar… not only adds to the momentum for DivX Plus Streaming but also our traction with technology leaders in the Greater China region,” said Matt Milne, executive vice president, worldwide sales and marketing, Rovi Corporation. “Importantly, our expanded relationship with MStar should help accelerate the availability of a dramatically improved over-the-top entertainment experience for consumers.”
