RTL strong Q3, eyes Endemol
November 9, 2011
RTL has reported that Q3 revenue rose 6.6 per cent year on year in the third quarter to €1.24 billion thanks to a boost in TV ad sales in Germany, France and the Netherlands and growth at FremantleMedia.
Earnings before interest, tax and amortisation rose 8.3 per cent year on year to €144 million. The company said net cash as of September 30th was €970 million.
RTL is said to be interested in a potential deal to buy Endemol, but has not submitted an offer and is not thought likely to until the Big Brother producer resolves its €2.8 billion debt restructure.
