FilmFlex on Film4oD
September 27, 2011
FilmFlex Movies, one of the largest movies-on-demand service providers in Europe, backed by joint venture partners Sony Pictures Television (a Sony Pictures Entertainment Company) and The Walt Disney Company EMEA, has confirmed the launch of a ‘download to rent’ option on Film4oD, Film4’s online film-on-demand service.
Download to rent, which saves the movie to the users’ computer, has been introduced to enable Film4oD viewers to watch films offline for the first time. It has been developed to suit users either with low bandwidth or those that would like to watch a film when not connected to the Internet. The new functionality also allows users to begin watching their selection while the film is being downloaded.
Film4oD was launched in November 2010 and has more than 50,000 registered users.
