Nickelodeon and Comedy Central join HD+

SES Astra has revealed that Nickelodeon HD and Comedy Central HD are now also available via HD+ in Germany following an agreement between MTV Networks, HD+ and SES. Consequently, the HD+ offer now comprises ten free TV HD channels, which are transmitted in encrypted form.
HD+ is a technical platform from SES Astra for encrypted broadcasting and reception of commercial free TV programmes in HD quality. The free TV channels as part of the HD+ offering currently include Nickelodeon HD, Comedy Central HD, RTL HD, Sat.1 HD, ProSieben HD, VOX HD, kabel eins HD, RTL2 HD, SPORT1 HD and sixx HD. For HD+, no fixed contract or subscription obligations apply. Following a one year trial period free of charge, customers pay a fixed technical service fee of EUR 50 per year.
