India’s public broadcaster Doordarshan intends to add dramatically to the number of DTH channels it carries. In addition to the 21 national and region TV stations it offers on DTH, the broadcaster says it will add another 200 to its own dedicated bouquet, and create a major challenge to the existing DTH platforms.
Some 32 million homes in India view DTH satellite TV, with 8 million watching Doordarshan’s channels over satellite.
