Go Malta chooses Minerva Networks for next generation television services
March 21, 2011
Minerva Networks, provider of carrier-class solutions for the delivery of television services over broadband networks, has announced that Go Malta has selected its platform to offer broadcast TV, video-on-demand and over-the-top (OTT) television services for up to 100,000 subscribers.
Go Malta will use Minerva’s carrier software called xTVFusion to help manage the IP delivery of next generation television services to multiple devices including set-top boxes, personal computers and smart mobile phones. New features include network digital video recording (nDVR), pausing and restarting live TV programs, and Catch-up TV.
“We chose Minerva over several vendors because of their history of innovation and their impressive number of live deployments,” said Kelvin Camenzuli, a senior manager at Go Malta for video and TV Networks. “Minerva also shares our vision about the future of television services blending legacy pay-TV and Internet TV in a manner which allows Customers to choose their own TV experience.”
“Go Malta will offer a state of the art showcase of how IP technology can transform the television experience. Their subscribers will enjoy better television services featuring more content and applications delivered to more devices, and be in a position to fully benefit from the future TV developments” said Doug Wills, VP of marketing and business development for Minerva Networks.
