3D for DT IPTV and Sky Deutschland
September 7, 2010
Sky Deutschland is to have live 3D coverage of golf’s Ryder Cup. All Sky HD subscribers in Germany and Austria on DTH or Kabel BW’s cable network will be able to watch the 3D footage of day three for no additional charge. “The Ryder Cup is a sports event of global importance and therefore perfectly suited as the kick-off event for our new 3D event channel,” said Carsten Schmidt, head of sport.
Meanwhile IPTV operator Deutsche Telekom is to launch a 3D service, as part of its Videoload online video store. The company has struck deals with Hollywood studios Warner Bros and Sony Pictures Television for movies and Discovery for its forthcoming 3D documentaries and is also offering a range of adult programmes
