Germany seeks candidates for DVB-H

The German state media office will decide by mid-March if mobile TV via the DVB-H standard gets a second chance. An important requirement for a possible re-tender of a 10-year licence is that interested parties confirm their interest in deploying DVB-H to the approval and oversight commission of the media offices (ZAK) before the end of February. ZAK will then decide if the market shows enough interest in DVB-H and decide whether to approve a re-tender or not.
A nationwide DVB-H licence was given to Mobile 3.0 in early 2008 but was returned at the end of the same year as the operator was unable to fulfil the licence conditions.
