OTT narrowcaster M-GO has contracted with enhanced sound specialists DTS to encode its HD and 4K programming with DTS technology. M-GO is backed by Technicolor and DreamWorks, and is available in some markets on Samsung displays as well as PCs and other connected devices.

M-GO says it is the first OTT supplier to also embrace ‘DTS Headphone:X’, described as a surround sound experience used on headphones which looks to replicate the original audio recordings.

“M-GO is a leader in premium quality video streaming, and we are proud they have selected DTS as their audio partner,” said Geir Skaaden, SVP of corporate business development, digital content and media solutions at DTS. “By combining DTS-HD audio technology with HD and UHD video, consumers will have the best of all worlds in streaming video entertainment.”

M-GO claims a portfolio of some 30,000 titles, including about 100 UHD on the Samsung 4K service.
