Kabel Deutschland reports growth in subs to digital TV, telephony and fast internet. In the three months to March 31, 2009 Germany's largest operator revealed the RGUs for internet and phone services had increased by 87.9% year-on-year to 1.42 million. The internet business contributed 707,500 and telephony 710,300. Some 70% of new customers are attracted to the recently introduced top speed of 32 Mbps.
The number of subscribers taking digital pay-TV services increased by 9.1% to 849,000. Digital Access RGUs, that is to say subscribers taking just the free-to-air digital services, stood at 2.1 million, an increase of 500,000.The monthly ARPU was E11.43 compared to E10.03 one year ago.
Adjusted EBITDA was E570.7 million, a 24% increase on 2008.
