ADB unveils hybrid multi-screen solution
September 4, 2013
ADB has unveiled ADB Multi-Screen, a software suite that combines broadcast and broadband delivery with home network content redistribution for an enhanced user experience across multiple screens at home and on the move.
ADB Multi-Screen has already been deployed by Polish satellite operator, nc+. nc+ has remotely configured its deployed ADB set-top boxeswith the multi-screen software, enabling the STBs to act as a digital TV gateway for other STBs and iOS/ Android devices.
ADB Multi-Screen’s software-only solution can be downloaded to ADB set-top boxes already in use and dispenses with the need for a hardware transcoder. As a result, pay-TV operators can make significant CAPEX savings from not having to invest in new hardware platforms, while also improving the ROI on ADB STBs already in customers’ homes.
