TiVo to get Cisco’s millions by end of month
July 15, 2013
By Chris Forrester
In June, TiVo agreed terms with Cisco Systems and Google whereby the two giants agreed to pay up $490 million to settle outstanding litigation over the use of TiVo patents.
The cash is to be paid over to TiVo by August 1st. Meanwhile, TiVo has to confirm formally that all its litigation against Cisco and Google – and Arris Group – has ceased. The payment terms were agreed July 5th.
Additionally the three parties have agreed to pay TiVo licence fees for using TiVo’s ‘time warp’ patents.
