LG Display Q2 revenues down 17%

LG Display have reported their Q2 2025 financial results, a weak quarter for the industry, with revenue down 17 per cent from last year to 5.587 trillion Won (€3.4bn), but with earnings climbing to 890 billion Won – up from a 237 billion Won loss in the last quarter. However, this improvement was largely thanks to the sale of its Guangzhou LCD fabrication factory to TCL.
LG Display announced that it will ship more than 6 million large-area White-OLED panels, out of which about 10 per cent will be monitor panels, and the rest for TV sets. Analysts are expecting actual WOLED panel shipments in 2025 to reach about 6.5 million units, up from 5.7 million units in 2024.
OLED -based revenues now amount to 56 per cent of the company’s total sales (up 4 per cent from the same period last year).
Demand for LG’s OLED panels is rising. Its OLED TV business segment reported a profit in the quarter.
For the rest of this trading year, LG Display expects a positive rebound in performance for its entire OLED business, as its shipments to Apple (for both iPhone and iPad devices) will sharply increase. Analysts expect the company to return to profitability on an annual basis in 2025.
