The UK House of Commons Digital, Culture, Media, and Sport Committee is to question Media, Data and Digital Infrastructure Minister Julia Lopez on connected and smart technology as part of its inquiry, Connect tech: smart or sinister?, examining the impacts of the increasing prevalence of smart and connected technology.
The inquiry is looking into what needs to be done to ensure connected tech is safe and secure for its users.
The Minister will face questions on issues raised so far during the inquiry, including the Department’s role in cybersecurity and supporting the digital economy, the regulation of artificial intelligence and the implications of the changing way in which technology is being used in the creative industries.
