May 4, 2022
The BT Sport Pub Cup returns for 2022 which will see 64 men’s and 64 women’s teams fight it out for a place in the final under the iconic Wembley Arch.
This year marks the fifth edition of the tournament and will see a record number of female teams participate when it kicks off on June 12th with 7-a-side regional qualifiers across the UK.
Eight men’s and eight women’s teams will then play in the 11-a-side semi finals at Manchester City’s Etihad complex on July 24th, before the grand final at Wembley Stadium on November 18th.
Teams can enter on behalf of any existing BT Sport pub, with one male and one female entry allowed per business. The competing teams will then be selected at random on May 25th. A free Puma kit will be given to each competing team, with the winners receiving free BT Sport for their pub for the year, as well as £1,000 of BT Shop vouchers.
Alasdair Collis, Director of Propositions and Trading – Commercial Sport, said: “In what is a bumper year for women’s sport, we are delighted to be able to accommodate a record number of women’s teams in the 2022 BT Sport Pub Cup and, once again, help make the dreams of both male and female footballer’s a reality by offering them the chance to play at Wembley.”
