Spain: Netflix raises fees
June 21, 2019
From David Del Valle in Madrid
SVoD service Netflix is introducing a range of increases of up to €2 to its premium subscription fee in Spain a few months after it did likewise in Germany, Austria and Switzerland.
The price for a subscription with HD quality and simultaneous use on two devices goes from €10.99 to €11.99 per month while the subscription with Ultra-HD streaming and simultaneous use on up to four devices goes from €13.99 to €15.99 a month. The basic subscription, though, remains unchanged at €7.99 per month.
The company argues that the increase is as a result of the huge investments made in the in-house production of TV series and cinema.
