Burns for Ofcom chair

UK Government has lined up Terry Burns, a former C4 chairman, as chair of media regulator Ofcom. Burns was named by the Department of Digital, Culture, Media and Sport as the preferred candidate.
He will replace Patricia Hodgson, who announced her retirement from the role in May of this year, following a pre-appointment hearing on December 13th.
Burns was Chairman of broadcaster Channel 4 between 2010 and 2016, and was previously Permanent Secretary at the Treasury.
The term will last four years, with Burns paid £120,000 (€137,000) per year for up to three days a week of work.
