S4C to provide Welsh-language coverage of 2026 Commonwealth Games

Commonwealth Sport has announced that S4C will provide live Welsh-language coverage of the Glasgow 2026 Commonwealth Games.
Coverage will run from July 24th to August 2nd, featuring ten days of competition across ten sports and a record-breaking Para sport programme, with 47 medal events across six disciplines. The partnership will ensure audiences across Wales can follow every moment of Team Cymru’s journey at Glasgow 2026, the 23rd edition of the Commonwealth Games.
Katie Sadleir, Chief Executive of Commonwealth Sport, commented: “We are delighted to welcome S4C as an official broadcast partner for Glasgow 2026. The Commonwealth Games are unique in bringing together athletes and communities from across our 74 nations and territories, and it is fantastic that Welsh-speaking audiences will be able to experience the excitement, drama and inspiration of the Games live in their own language for the first time. This partnership reflects our commitment to making Glasgow 2026 as accessible and inclusive as possible, ensuring more people can connect with the moments that make the Commonwealth Games so special.”
Lauren Salter will present S4C’s coverage, alongside Alun Williams, who will report live from Glasgow each evening.
