Bluey reaches 4m UK book sales
April 24, 2026
Following the creative recognition for the 2025 Bluey publishing programme at Bologna Children’s Book Fair, which won Best Preschool Licensing Project at the Bologna Licensing Awards last week, Penguin Random House Children’s Licensing and BBC Studios have announced another milestone for the Bluey brand with over 4 million books sold in the UK through TCM. Ladybird, an imprint of Penguin Random House Children’s UK, has been publishing Bluey since 2021.
The publishing programme continues to deliver strong results in the preschool market. In 2025, Bluey titles appeared in the top 20 preschool chart 78 times, including 41 top 10 positions and 4 number one spots with My Dad is Awesome and the World Book Day mini book: Bluey’s Little Book. Where’s Bluey? remains the bestselling title overall selling over 317, 547 copies through TCM.
More than 1 million English-language copies have been sold across international territories, alongside 6.9 million copies in translation, spanning 30 languages.
Ladybird continues its strong momentum into 2026 with an exciting publishing line-up. Upcoming titles include: Bluey’s Friends Jigsaw Book, A Magic Finger Painting Book, and a range of seasonal releases such as Bluey and Bingo’s Book of Scary Things: A Lift-the-Flap Book, Halloween Trick or Treat Calendar and Let’s Do Christmas Magnet Book.
Jan Paterson, Director of Books and Audio Publishing at BBC Studio, commented: “With Bluey continuing to be one of the UK’s top performing children’s shows across Disney+, CBeebies and BBC iPlayer, it’s fantastic to see that love for the series extend beyond the screen and into a thriving Bluey book portfolio. Not only that, Bluey’s multi-generational appeal has helped to foster a love of reading between parents and carers with their children, which is so valuable during those early years.”
Rianna Mezzullo, Publisher, Penguin Random House Children’s Licensing, added: “Reaching 4 million Bluey books sold in the UK is a brilliant milestone and a testament to the genuine connection the Bluey brand has built with families, growing from a breakout success into a lasting favourite. From the very beginning, it’s felt like something truly special. Our publishing continues to evolve alongside the audience with each new format bringing something fresh to the Bluey world whether through shared reading, creativity or play. We’re incredibly proud of the breadth of the list we’ve created at Ladybird and the role our Bluey books play in everyday family life. We’re excited to keep delighting fans with many more Bluey adventures. On the road to 5 million!”
Bluey is available to watch in the UK on Disney+, CBeebies and BBC iPlayer.
